Why audio programs work

Host : OK, but why'd you decide to focus on audio-based information?

David : I just think it's an ideal way to pick up information. Audiobooks are a great way to put your driving or other "down time" to work. Audio tapes are compact, and can fit in a shirt pocket or purse. Just pop the cassette in your car's tape deck or Walkman, and you've got commercial-free information at your fingertips.

Host : Yes, audio tapes are convenient...

David : And the best thing about them is they get listened to. Just for laughs I recently did an inventory of my personal library of books and audio tapes. Out of about 300 books, I discovered I hadn't read about 50 of them.

But of my 150 or so audiobooks, I found I had listened to all of them except for two. And I had listened to many of the audiobooks two, three or four times.
